I remember like it was only yesterday in 1986 Colonial Floor Care was created by Phil Jones a British chap from England. He had just arrived from England and had this skill called restoring terrazzo. Phil told me that when he sold me the business back in 1996 he couldn’t imagine that he would ever sell his company and return back home to England but he had no choice his wife said she wanted to raise her children in England. I remember like it was yesterday when he called me and asked me if I wanted to buy his business, it was actually the first time we have ever talked on the phone. All I knew was Colonial floor care was the only company people where proud to recommend. So I too recommended Colonial to customers service Terrazzo Restoration Service Miami Shores.  Phil offered to sell me the business first because I own a service related business that has a respectable reputation and Phil wanted to know that the type of person he sold his company to would not run his company to the ground. When Phil initially called me I was shocked because for the last previous year I was wondering how I could get in the hard surface care business. When Phil called me I knew it was a no brainier. I was buying his brand and come to find out that is really all he had to offer me. I asked him for his client list and he looked at me and laughed. Phil was a one man show with an occasional helper and there wasn’t any history of customers. I wasn’t surprised. It confirmed that I was buying his reputation and the fact that I knew that everyone I knew always referred him, the only thing possibly negative that could be said about him is he was always busy and that he is always three weeks booked in advance.
