Miami is the place to be!

Watching the Today Show this morning I saw that Miami is one of the top 10 cities to buy housing at a bargain price and where job growth is on the up-rise.

I said to myself, “way to go Miami“. So with so many home for sale at bargain prices, a great percentage of these being Mid Modern homes built in the 50’s and 60’s will probably have Terrazzo. Many may be covered up with carpet or tile, which was the thing to do in the 70’s. Many homeowners are now discovering the timeless beauty, durability of Terrazzo. Many ask their real estate agents to look for homes with these type of floors.

Unfortunately, a foreclosure home may not be in the best condition. You can tell if you have covered up Terrazzo at the door way of your potential home. If you see something that may be dirty, dull, but with spec\’s of color, you most probably have Terrazzo in that home. Yes it may be covered up with tile or carpet, and yes when you remove that you may find a floor that looks like it would be impossible for it to be restored. That is where Colonial Floor Care will be able to help.

We have been restoring this historical floor for over 20 years for Miami / Dade, Broward and Palm Beach county resident home owners for over 20 years. If you decide to restore your Terrazzo, have pull out the carpet and tile, and find that possibly a foyer or kitchen was not terrazzo but foundation concrete, don’t be discouraged. Once again Colonial Floor Care can come to help you with the newest trend in flooring, which is decorative concrete. If you are looking to restore and be one of the lucky owners of Terrazzo, or need help deciding what to do like these homeowners, please call us for a consultation and free estimate.
